Hey Key Clubbers, I have some important news to share with you, but first let me begin it with some deep reflection. When I first moved to the Seattle area about three years ago, I didn't know what to expect. In the eyes of a young Northeastern Yankee, the whole Puget Sound area seemed like a world away from small, suburban New Jersey located just outside of the lights of New York. Before I moved here, my eastern friends- their views of western Washington shaped by crude caricatures- jokingly said that I would probably die of the marijuana smoke and the loud grunge music within a year. In contrast to these early mixed feelings, I'm confident to say that I am proud and happy to have called the Seattle area my home over the last three years. I have met the most intelligent, kindest, globally aware, and most altruistic people here- mostly through Key Club. Though I planned to stay at good old IHS and live in Bellevue in the spirit of myriads of young men before me who had fled the East for a better life in the West, fate seems to have thought otherwise. My dad has accepted a job in New York City with a better pay, and with three college tuitions to pay he couldn't say no. As a result, I am going to move back to my small, New Jersey town by the end of August and will be unable to continue my duties as the Vice-President of the IHS Key Club. I only received word of this rather unhappy news a week ago, so I had no way of knowing when I took on the position of VP three months ago that I would have to give it up. Your Key Club officer team is looking into appointing the new VP among IHS Key Club's most dedicated members. Though I would have liked to complete my term as VP, I know that the IHS Key Club will continue to thrive and make a difference in the community. I will continue to participate and volunteer in Key Club events until the end of August. I will miss all you guys and I hope to still be an active member in the Key Club community even after I move.

Sincerely,
Alan Ko
